A Lazy Day in NYC :: Brookfield Place

August 19, 2017

Summertime is special, but there’s just something about a beautiful Summer day in New York City that you can’t beat. Although I’m over here hustlin’ behind the scenes at Effie’s Paper, I do try to take some time for myself.

One of my favorite things to do is walk around downtown. I know, I should get out an explore some of the city neighborhoods I don’t know that well. But honestly, to do so requires thinking ….. I love being able to walk out my door, wander around my hood and know that I am no more than a twenty minute walk away from home.

One of the areas that I gravitate towards in the warmer months is Brookfield Place. What once used to be thought of as the domain of American Express, is now a bustling high-end shopping mall replete with a French fancy food shop, restaurants and outdoor seating on the water.

It’s lovely to just sit outside and watch the boats, people and tourists as they go by. Sometimes I do my best thinking when I’m not thinking at all. You too?
