Girls Love Mail is a charity that helps give encouraging and inspiring messages to women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Since beginning, Girls Love Mail has worked with the staff at cancer centers across the country to distribute thousands of handwritten letters to women. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are or if even if you’ve battled breast cancer yourself. Send your inspiring words or share your experiences to those battling this disease. Letters are welcome from anyone who is willing to write one.
Their new book “Dear Friend” is a collection of handwritten notes people have been so kind as to send in the past. Girls Love Mail, with the help of so many kind strangers, have made this book possible. Each letter offers up inspiring, sometimes funny but always heartfelt words. “Dear Friend” is finally available to order through their website. I can’t put mine down!
Breast cancer affects so many of our lives in some way or another, and the number of lives it’s affecting is only growing larger. Whether it is ourselves, a friend, a family member, a coworker, or a significant other. You may know those who are battling the disease and maybe those who succumbed to it. Early detection is key. Self-exams and mammograms are our weapons to fight back against breast cancer. Self-exams should be done monthly and mammograms routinely. Informing and encouraging your loved ones to take precautions is so important. For those who are diagnosed, a positive outlook, encouraging words and shared experiences can be so helpful. What a great way to do so with a heartfelt, handwritten note?
Girls Love Mail is a 501(c)(3) that gives the gift of handwritten letters to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Just send your letter to the address listed below and Girls Love Mail will take care of the rest for you!
