I’m giddy with anticipation about the Inauguration! A compassionate soul as our President and a woman who looks like me as the Vice President (my sorority sister as a matter of fact). I've been waiting 4 LONG years for this day. I know with certainty that John Lewis and Ruth Bader Ginsberg are dancing with the angels this morning. As our nation's new chapter unfolds, John Lewis' words are even more important today then they were 60 years ago, "[n]ever ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” We almost lost the very civil rights that the giants of the Civil Rights movement fought for; we owe it to them, and ourselves, to insure that this country moves forward in the direction of justice and equality. Today is a day to celebrate; the hard work of creating parity and undoing the wrongs of the past 4 years will continue tomorrow. Be the change you want to see. Be a part of the solution. Now more than ever is the time to walk the walk. If you posted a black square on June 6th, we need you as an ally now more than ever. Be ready to show up, use your voice and get into Good Trouble! Happy Inauguration Day!!!!
