You guys know I’m all about mixing high and low fashion, right? The thing about fast fashion is that it’s in and then it’s out. I love it when you can snag super cute trendy fashions at a great price. As a general rule, I try to buy classic pieces that can be used as foundation items and then layer in other classics or fun trendy pieces. So each season, before I shop, I think about what I currently have in my wardrobe and then figure out what I’d like to add in. And believe it or not, this holds true for workout clothes too!
Florals are big this Spring, but as much as I love bright colors and floral patterns they don’t make up a good chunk of my wardrobe. I’m loving this sweatshirt I got from Tobi; it puts me right on trend without breaking the bank and integrates well with most of my workout gear. I tend to have a lot of black and grey workout clothes – I guess it’s the whole athleisure trend, but now that I’ve become a yoga devote I’m gravitating towards brighter colors when I buy workout clothes. I think my true colors are coming through! Ha, ha.

Over the course of time, I’ve learned that having a wardrobe filled with classic pieces means that you always have something to wear for just about any occasion. The downside though is that sometimes, you just want to change it up a little bit. Or, at least I do! Typically, I would wear a short-sleeved black sweater with this fab skirt I found in Hong Kong a few years ago and go for a very lady who lunches kind of look, you know Uptown Girl …… But, I live downtown. We were invited to a cocktail party in our neck of the woods that was kind of dressy, but I knew folks would show up and have a little edge going on. I wanted to wear my floral skirt (because it’s Spring and florals are in) but I wanted an unexpected top to go with it – I think this little lace crop number from Tobi.

The one trend I’ve gone a little gaga for this Spring are all-over lace dresses! I’m obsessed. There’s just something about the dainty-ness combined with the skin-toned under layers …. I love them and they’ve been around for a year now, so imagine my delight when I came across this pretty little number at Tobi. You would have no idea this dress only cost $42, right!?!?! It is the perfect lady who lunches dress (I know this somewhat contradicts what I said above), and I wore it to one of my favorite downtown restaurants One Little Park. I paired it with a pair of neutral Louboutins and a vintage Christian Dior bag; let’s just say that my dining companion, one of my super fashionable friends, was just a tad bit obsessed with the dress. SCORE!
P.S. Did you know that tobi.com/au offers FREE shipping to Australia?!
