These pictures were taken almost a year ago to the date. Like many other small business owners after #BlackOutTuesday, I had no idea if the momentum would continue. Believe it or not, at the time it was just Aubrie and I dealing with the day-to-day running of the business. So many things had gone wrong in 2019 and then March of 2020 happened and well, you know the rest .... But, last June, I was giddy as I rolled up my sleeves and packed orders like I never had before! As the momentum picked up, we ended up bringing on help as our footprint expanded. I'm delighted to share that the momentum from 2020 has continued and honestly, some days it's all I can do just to keep my balls in the air.
A few months ago a good friend asked me if I still loved my job. I'd been so busy juggling that the question stopped me dead in my tracks. The answer is YES. But, as I said to my girlfriend, my job is different now. And honestly, some days my stress level is where it was when I worked for the law firm. It's all good – these are growing pains and this is what happens when a small business is in the process of scaling. I've got no complaints.
We went from a team of 2 to 10. Life can change on a dime. It did for Effie's Paper. I'm just doing what I can to live in the moment and appreciate this part of the journey. You all are a huge part of this journey; a heartfelt THANK YOU to our OGs, our NEW Gs and all of you lovelies in between. Your orders, your referrals and your responses to our newsletter still set my heart a flutter.
