Yes, that WholeFoods!
We’re soooo excited for our effie’s paper :: design studio client, Mama’s Sweet Side. Starting today, June 5th, their mini Dream Cakes (i.e., bundt cakes) are being sold at the new WholeFoods in Detroit, Michigan. Mama’s Sweet Side is a desert company specializing in Dream Cakes owned by siblings and Detroit natives Anthony and Kathleen Haralson. They use only Michigan based products, natural ingredients and everything is made from scratch including the frosting. Food and Wine magazine called their cakes “Perfection”; amazing praise for a start-up company from an industry stalwart.
Mama’s Sweet Side approached Kalyn last Fall to enlist her graphic design and branding skills for their fledgling desert company. They already had a logo and a website; Kalyn was tasked with using their pre-designed logo to create a distinctive branding presence for the company. This included everything from product insert instruction cards and mailing labels to branded thank you notes. “I was delighted when Anthony told me about their partnership with WholeFoods. As a small business owner, I’m always rooting for the success of other small busnisses. And, I was honored when they asked me to design the product packaging for their mini Dream Cakes. I’m so excited for Mama’s Sweet Side and this opportunity!” said Kalyn.
